Sushi-go-round!

I hate to admit it, but I've never been to one of the most popular type of restaurants in Japan - a kaiten sushi restaurant. There is a conveyor belt with plates of many different kinds of sushi just going around and when you see one you like, you take it off and eat it, just like that! Each small plate is only 100 yen - about $1! It is so cheap and really good too! If you don't see a kind you want, you can order it specially and it will come zooming around to your table very soon. It's sooo cool!! You can also order ramen and a few other dishes like that, as well as small desserts.

In this video, Hannah is putting the plates into the "trash" - they are automatically counted and added up for our final bill. Also, after you put in 5 plates, there is a video "lottery" where a short animation plays and if the character "wins" his battle in the story, you get a small toy out of a machine above the booth. It's hilarious!! It really makes people want to eat more - especially the kids! Six of us ate all we could for about 5370 yen - about $53. Cheap!!
